HISTORY

With a history covering 30 years, EQM Industrial has proven to be innovative, responsive and highly capable supplier to food and beverage processing and handling plants around New Zealand.

1990

Back in 1990 the company began life as Equipment Marketing, dealing in second-hand food handling and conveying equipment. The gear was highly mechanical back in those days, with lots of moving parts. Anthony Bloxham began working for the company in 1993.

2006

By 2006 the company was also importing new gearboxes and motors from Italy to meet growing demand for a broader range of equipment.

2012

In 2012, customisation of conveyor systems became a staple for the team and their technical abilities really came to the fore. Customers were able to reap the benefits of bespoke systems that reduced their overall costs.

2017

Visits to Fruit Logistica in Germany from 2017 identified big developments in turnkey solutions for fruit packing lines in packhouses and resulted in EQM becoming the NZ Sales Agent for Unitec systems.

2024

EQM Industrial acquires the conveyor division from Autoline Automation adding a number of conveyor agencies to our range

1995

In 1995 David Bloxham, Anthony’s father, bought the business and for a while it was business as usual. In 1998 Tim Bloxham joined the company and the family legacy continued in 2006 when their sister Louise also joined the team working in administration and marketing.

2010

In 2010 the business rebranded to EQM Industrial. This reflected the change in focus to being a supplier of new rather than used equipment, and the extra services available for customers. Additional imported product lines were introduced during 2011 after David attended a major tradeshow in Italy.

2015

Another big step forward came in 2015 with the consolidation of the product range into EQM Drive, FQM Move and FQM Pack. This enabled clients to more easily identify the right products and their place in the process. By this time 95% of all equipment sold was in the New category.

2021

EQM Hygiene brand is launched to the EQM Industrial portfolio to provide food factories and stainless steel fabricators hygienic a complete range of stainless-steel bearing units and hardware, gearboxes, and motors, and more for the very challenging high care food processing industries. As we all know, hygiene has become the ever-present theme in news stories around the globe. Thanks to a global pandemic, and the need for ever-improving food safety and cleanliness standards, having access to parts and equipment that lower the risk of ill health and improve people’s well-being, is an exciting advancement for our industry.
