Published in The Connection, UNITEC has established a new branch to service Australia and New Zealand from Melbourne.
UNITEC Asia Pacific is the name of the new branch operating in Melbourne. This Italian Group specialises in designing and making innovative technologies for fruit quality sorting internationally. It has been installing systems over the world for over 90 years. It provides its customers with advanced solutions and the highest standards of reliability and profitability.
The new operating branch has been established to support UNITEC customers from Australia and New Zealand.
UNITEC Asia Pacific adds to the 10 UNITEC operating branches all around the world. All these branches are in countries that produce fruit and vegetables such as France, Sicily, Spain, The United States of America, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Turkey and Russia.
Furthermore, UNITEC Asia Pacific now aims to provide Australia and New Zealand with technological solutions to process and classify the quality of a wide range of fruit. This is where the UNITEC Group are experts. This includes cherries, blueberries, apples, pears, kiwifruits, apricots, plums, peaches, and plenty more.
Late last year EQM hosted UNITEC’s appointed Asia Pacific Oceania Region representative Benedetta Ricci Iamino. We took Benedetta on a tour of New Zealand’s premium growing regions: Hawke’s Bay, Bay of Plenty, Marlborough and Central Otago.
The quality of New Zealand’s fruit impressed Benedetta. Furthermore, she saw the desire of the industry to be at the forefront of technology. She put this down to the fact that exporters wanted to ensure that regardless of the distance to the market, their products would arrive in the best condition and continue to be graded to the highest standards.
EQM and UNITEC’s joint endeavour to help grow local New Zealand businesses by improving the quality of their work has been successful. We achieved this with the first complete, turn-key Cherry Vision sorting line installation and many more plans are to come. “The UNITEC line can allow us to offer a quality guarantee that we will send to customers all over the world,” says Michael Stuart from CentralPac.
